KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) -- Mach 3D, a telephone console technology from Etrali which aids telecommunication in times of distress, is now available in Malaysia, it was announced Friday. Etrali, with over 40 years of experience in high-performance telephony technologies, is part of the France Telecom Company. "With Mach 3D, the intelligent communication console, callers will never be put on hold anymore, which is especially important during times of disaster or distress," Etrali Managing Director of Asia Pacific Henri Vautheny told reporters here. The Mach 3D console can accommodate up to 2,000 lines simultaneously and can dial the relevant authorities in hospitals or the police force for them to listen in to the calls of distress to dispel any notions of actions not taken. Etrali's Malaysia-based distributor, Nexustel Sdn Bhd Executive Director Wendy Leong, said Mach 3D ensured that a caller would get a human voice instead of a machine answering because the human element was always critical when answering distress calls. She said the technology would enable call takers to dispatch help without having to put the caller on hold, and the caller would get a verbal confirmation that help was on the way as the console could accommodate up to 200 parties to receive the broadcast of a distress call. "Mach 3D also has the ability to simultaneously monitor multiple radio communications for any emergency, up to 26 radio frequencies at any one time for each console...each console is independent," she said. Etrali's key customers include the ambulance services in Paris, fire brigade in the United Kingdom, the police in Luxembourg and Air France's airport terminals. -- BERNAMA |
